This is me. It is the one and only high school year book picture I’m not ashamed to share.
(Amazingly, I managed to become MORE awkward as I got older…)
Then something even more amazing happened. I kinda figured out how to grow up enough to discover my own divine worth and figured out how to stop hiding it. I realized that even though I’m bad at quite a few things (advanced math, punctuality and gardening), I’m awesome at other things…
I can and actually like to run long distances.
I’m really good at seeing the beauty and good around me (in most situations that don’t involve fire ants or cockroaches…)
In the process, I’ve discovered where my mission lies. It’s LOVE. Love of this life. Love of others. Love of the daily miracles around us. I’m not great at politicking and I’m a lousy debater. Just about every debate I’ve ever entered, I’ve left crying. If you’re looking for a juicy blog with fiery opinions and daily reminders of social injustice, you’ve come to the wrong place. While those are important to me too, I choose to fight those battles in other forums.
BUT right here, right now, I can help others see the good. If I leave a mark doing just that, then maybe, just maybe, it’s a mission accomplished.
